In infrastructure, India is picking up fast on building roads and providing multiple transport options. This has resulted in demand for automation of transport systems and toll systems, with value addition for the end customers. BBIPPL has various solutions, such as, Intelligent Transport System, Vehicle Tracking System, Automatic Vehicle Classification and Emergency Call Box.

Intelligent Transport System

Intelligent Transport System (ITS) is designed for the urban / state / private road transport organizations (public and private RTCs). The system consists of a backend and a hardware component to provide an integrated solution for the driver console unit, electronic ticking machine, passenger information system and vehicle tracking system. ITS provides a single solution for transport companies to schedule and monitor buses with the help of advance technologies such as GPS, Wi-Fi and GPRS

The Need Road transport organizations typically have huge fleet of buses that operate from depots situated at remote locations. With the increase in population the public transport organizations need to improve their services to provide better facilities. Without having an intelligent transport system in place, it is very difficult to improve the service. ITS will enable the transport organization to get the required bus, schedule, route and passenger information very quickly to execute public queries in a very efficient manner. With the help of Vehicle Tracking System, people can get the current location of the bus without communicating with the staff members. The electronic ticketing machine stores information of each and every ticket issued to the passengers. This ticketing data is used for managerial decisions such as introducing new bus routes or allocating part-time buses to operate at crowded locations. To have a better up-time for bus, ITS provides a driver console to monitor the bus 'health'. With the increase in terrorist attacks, public security is critical. ITS also provides security cameras which record the audio and video inside the bus.

Vehicle Tracking System

Automatic Vehicle Tracking System is computer based vehicle tracking system , the actual real-time position of vehicle is measured and it location is relayed to control center to provide a wide range of live, graphical, intelligent Remote Fleet Management with almost no requirement for supervisory intervention. Vehicle Tracking Solution display vehicle location & many other reports, through the custom GUI software interface

Overview:
• The system uses photo electric devices fixed on 2 pillars and are installed on either side of the passage / road. The unit is powered with SOLAR supply.

Principle:
• When vehicle passes through AVC, IR beams are cut. As vehicle progresses through sensor area processor starts sending sample data. This data is processed and compared with images stored in library to arrive accurate class.

Automatic Vehicle Classification

Brick and Byte has AVC system which can be used for vehicle classification. It uses profiler to get the vehicle profile and classify the same accordingly. It comprises of Infrared transmitter on one side of the lane and receiver on the other side of the lane, forming a light curtain. As the vehicle passed through the curtain it cuts the infra rays and that helps in creating the vehicle profile / image. The image analyzer software then displays the image on screen and analyzes the same to let the vehicle class. Typical classification is – two wheelers, three wheeler, car/jeep/van, LCV, Truck/But, MAV. A typical setup is as shown in the diagram below:

Emergency Call Box

Our Emergency Call Box (ECB) provides effective communication medium on highways, where drivers or passengers can use them to contact a control centre in case of an accident or other emergency.

The Emergency (SOS) telephone system implementation is designed keeping in mind following requirements:-

A. Tamper Proof:-
Since these telephones are along the highways and are unmanned, the system should be tamper proof.

B. Easy to operate:-
The highway is used by all kinds of persons and some of them are not so educated, so its operation should be simple preferably Single Button.

C. Weather Proof:-
The designed solution should be able to work under all extreme weather conditions.

D. Full duplex Conversation:-
The system provide full duplex conversation between the user and the control room operator. Moreover the control room operator can invoke the conference mode and can include in conversation the third person/agency so that the user gets his grievance resolved online.

E. Interface:-
We have both Fiber Optic Interface and GSM interface

F. Control Room:-
It will receive the call from wayside Equipment and keep a record of call received. Call needs to be attended manually be an operator, who will convey this to the authorities concerned for the action.
• GUI has highway map and an ECB icon which interacts with filed ECB for call hold, pickup operations.
• It has facility of classifying the conversation as major accident, minor accident etc
